Ok! I think I am an expert when it comes to this field, since I have been eating mexican food all my life. From Mom's good cooking to mexican restuarants. If you do not know what some of these foods are, email me and I will explain the dish to you.Lets start off with a mexican resturant in the south side of town, which by the way are the best mexican restuarants around in San Antonio. Sure you have Tacotote, Las Palapas and other nice restuarants in the north side of town, but I am talking real down to earth mexican restuarants, with food like mom use to make. That's what I am talking about. The real stuff.1st comes Daniels, off of south Presa st. If you like Chilaquiles, you have not eaten chilaquiles until you have tried Daniels. Home made corn tortillas in it.Ummm Ummmm!!! They have the best refried beans to go with it. Make sure you get the round sausage patties that comes with it. A good cup of Joe and your in hog heaven. Here is the kicker, all of this for 5 bucks and change. Excluding tip of course. Just tip the waiter, there working for it.Next comes a little restuarant called Angies, finger licking good tacos. My favorite taco their is the steak a la mexicana. I am telling you, not only do they taste good, but they pack those tacos in. I am serious, you have to love that taco. The only draw back with Angies, it's known and it's a small place. Usually you have to wait standing up waiting for a table to open up. Its worth it though. Loacated on Pleasanton Rd.Next place I only mention it. because if you like tortillas, (Flour) they have some good homemade tortillas that will get your attention. Marylou's. Nice and roomy in this restuarant but a little on the high side, $8.50 for a carne guisada plate!Unlike Angies or Daniels. IT too is on Pleasanton Road not far from Angies! Let me know if you have been to any restuarants in the south side of town, and what has got your interest? I probably have been there anyway, but if not, I will go and check it out. I'm out!
