Considering Silverleaf, one of Scottsdale’s — and the world’s — finest luxury golf communities? Talk first with Silverleaf expert Chey Castro, MSA, co-listing agent with the Frank Aazami/Private Client Group, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, Scottsdale Arizona.
“In the Valley, Silverleaf is one of the magical names in residential living, offering the highest standards of style and the finest lifestyle amenities, led by the community’s incomparable 50,000-square-foot clubhouse,” he says.
Sales have been outstanding this year, making Silverleaf a closings standout in the Valley’s recovering market. “We’re off to a great start,” Chey says, notingthat 24 homes have been under contract or sold on the Multiple Listing Servicethrough April 15. One home, in fact, is a pending sale at $4.59 million — reminiscent of prices five years ago. “The thoughtfulness and vision of the developer, DMB Associates, has set Silverleaf apart,” he adds. “In addition to the Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course, there are so many parks here, with charming homes clustered around them. It’s a community, not just another development.”
This long-term vision has created a Silverleaf spirit that prospective buyers noticeimmediately. “Because there are so many alley-loaded homes, the street views include water features, courtyards and beautiful homes with well-maintained front yards,” he explains.
Most important for all buyers is proximity to the restaurants, businesses, shops and other activities of Scottsdale. “People don’t want to drive 30 minutes just toget down to central Scottsdale for dinner,” he says. “From Silverleaf, the Loop101 is just five minutes away.”
Recently, in fact, he sold a home in Silverleaf to a couple who relocated 10 miles south from a luxury golf community in far-North Scottsdale. “They wanted to downsize and be closer to town, and Silverleaf gave them the same amenities such as golf, just more conveniently and at great value.”
He accepted a position as a senior auditor for Ernst & Young, a “Big 4” accounting firm in Phoenix, then became a senior financial analyst for DMB Associates, which specializes in developing high-end master-planned communities such as Silverleaf. There, as a member of its Silverleaf sales team, he contributed to more than $200 million in home and homesite sales while gaining broad knowledge of the community.
“Because I worked for DMB while the company was planning and visioning Silverleaf and releasing the lots, I have first-hand knowledge of the community few have,” he says. And, because he worked with the sales team there for three years, he has garnered on-the-site experience selling lots and the homes and understanding the needs of the high-end buyer.
Two years ago, he joined the Private Client Group/Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty. In his first year, he was included on the Phoenix Business Journal Book of Lists for top-producing Real Estate Agents.Since joining the Frank Aazami group, Chey has reaffirmed his traditional face-to- face customer service — even if that requires 100-hour nose-to-the grindstone weeks. “Customers are busy and simply don’t have the time to scourevery available property in an area, so I do it for them,” he says.
“Chey is everything our group values in our market specialists: He is positive, dedicated, optimistic, trustworthy, hard-working and ethical, and we are honored to have him represent Silverleaf for us,” Frank says.
